Hi Guys,
I’m a regular Littlewoods Poker player, although occasionally, I’ll try my hand in a cash game or tournament as a way of honing my poker-playing skills – such as they are!
Unlike the online version, I’ve noticed just how unpredictable players can be when they’re busted out of a cash game or tournament. This might sound odd, but such is their reaction that I sometimes feel a bit sorry for theses guys, especially if their elimination is attributable to me.

Given events in Vegas this week, it seemed appropriate to review a book which put the WSOP* at its heart. Ever since Tony Holden wrote Big Deal, the tale of an established writer setting off to Vegas with the intention of becoming world champion, he has spawned a plethora of copycat titles to the point where it has become an established literary genre, almost akin to a Michael Palin travelogue.

Do you know, I’ve had a guts-full of poker instruction manuals, online tutorials and the rest. No matter how much of this stuff I take in, whenever I’m playing I continually find myself thinking “this guy is bluffing” and then folding or else I think “my opponent is weak” but then fail to raise.

An unusual press release arrived at Littlewoods Poker Towers advising of a poker-related parenting book (we kid you not) that has won the “Good Parenting Seal” from an American website called Parental Wisdom. We consider this commendable and congratulate author Mark Borowski for his work, entitled Big Slick Daddy: Poker Strategies for Parenting Success.
Not surprisingly, the book is aimed primarily at blokes.
