News in brief, when Sue Schneider opened the 2007 World Poker Congress last week, she made a point of saying that perhaps the biggest challenge facing organisers of poker conferences is finding a suitable, hospitable venue. One assumes that Norway is probably off the rota, although Sue went onto suggest that countries such as Malta fitted the bill perfectly. Fortunately for Sue and other delegates, the event was being held in Malta, where several leading names from global poker organisations gathered to discuss the industry’s progress and future direction.
