An unusual press release arrived at Littlewoods Poker Towers advising of a poker-related parenting book (we kid you not) that has won the “Good Parenting Seal” from an American website called Parental Wisdom. We consider this commendable and congratulate author Mark Borowski for his work, entitled Big Slick Daddy: Poker Strategies for Parenting Success.
Not surprisingly, the book is aimed primarily at blokes.
“In an effort to reach (sic) men about the important topic of fatherhood,” reads the press release, “Mark capitalised on poker’s immense popularity by using the language and strategies of poker and relating them to parenting. The book helps fathers build strong, healthy relationships with their kids by providing practical, hands-on information that is easy to read and easy to use.”
We’ve not seen the book but can only wonder at what type of poker methodology or strategy could come in handy for the harassed parent? Should you conceal your eyes at all times or block out all noise [that’s a good ‘un: Ed], out-think your opponent or simply mix up your play at all times?
We’ve got in free chips to the Littlewoods Poker player who sends us the best suggestions for strategies fathers should employ to keep their offspring under control.
