Our first podcast goes live

In a move likely to be welcomed by poker players everywhere, Littlewoods Poker has launched the world’s first podcast freeroll tournament. The prize? A fantastic home poker night for the winner and up to nine friends; the successful player will also feature on Littlewoods’ next “poker-cast”.

“It seemed odd that very few mainstream poker rooms had embraced podcast technology to keep their players abreast of news, offer strategy tips or just welcome new players to their site. We took the decision to include all of this when we launched our podcast,” says Scott Richardson, head of Marketing at Littlewoods Poker. “Naturally, we wanted to give anyone accessing our podcast the opportunity to play poker and so the world’s first podcast freeroll was born.”

Apart from providing players with the chance to play poker for free, the “poker-cast” also features tips from Tony Cascarino and his report from the GUKPT event in Brighton; it also reveals what, precisely, ‘Poccer’ is.

“We actively welcome feedback from listeners,” says poker writer and “poker-cast” presenter Peter Sharkey. “The podcast is a unique method of engaging with players and we want to hear their views. We’ll be conducting regular interviews with players, our tournament winners and already have a few poker-playing stars lined up for future shows.”

In the meantime, players wanting to participate in a global poker first can do so by downloading the podcast, by listening to the show to discover the tournament password and see whether they can attain fame by becoming the inaugural winner of the world’s first podcast freeroll.
