Ever wondered whether any of your favourite stars and celebrities like to dabble in the exciting world of poker? Ben Affleck

When he’s not busy winning Oscars, starring in box office smashes or dating some of the most beautiful women in the world, Ben likes nothing more than some quality time at the poker table.

His biggest poker win to date came at the California State Poker Championship, where he beat all-comers to pocket a cool $356,400! Although Ben’s poker prize didn’t quite match the reputed $10 million he gets per film, but we bet he was more than pleased with picking up that massive poker jackpot for a day’s work.

Toby Maguire

Another famous movie star, and by coincidence, another great celebrity poker player! Famed for his role as superhero Peter Parker in the Spiderman films, Tobey could be a legitimate poker pro according to many who have seen him play. He reaffirmed that confidence in him by winning the Phil Hellmuth Invitational – the No Limit Hold’em 2004 National Championship of Poker in Los Angeles, banking a cool first prize of $95,480.

Nicky Hilton

The younger sister of celebrity party-goer Paris, Nicky Hilton is a central figure in the New York social scene. Like her big sister, Nicky is an heiress to the Hilton hotel fortune, but that hasn’t stopped her dabbling in the poker world.
She hosted a poker tournament at the new Caesars Palace poker room in Las Vegas in 2006 and also played, but was eliminated after going all-in. American Pie actress Shannon Elizabeth won the tournament, but Nicky has apparently been hit by the poker bug and wants to make the New Year’s Poker Tournament an annual event.

Mena Suvari

One of the stars of Oscar-winning film American Beauty, Mena Suvari can also be seen in the successful American Pie comedy movies. Despite not covering herself in poker glory just yet, many believe that Mena has the potential to be a great poker player. She has only been playing for a around a year, so it just goes to show that every poker star as to start somewhere.

Tony Cascarino

Our very own Tony Cascarino – international footballer turned poker star – has enjoyed considerable success on the poker circuit and as you will no doubt know, is one of the Littlewoods Poker ‘family’.

KingCas (his online poker username) won over $100,000 at the 2005 Caribbean Poker Classic and has followed this up with money finishes at numerous other poker tournaments since then. Despite his success at the poker table, Tony admits he is still a poker tournament rookie. Look out for him representing Littlewoods Poker on the EPT and then in Las Vegas at the 2007 WSOP.

Jimmy White

Everyone in the snooker world loved Jimmy ‘Whirlwind’ White, and now he’s brought his larger than life personality to the poker table. Revelling in his underdog status as a snooker professional, Jimmy again defied the odds by becoming the shock winner of the second Poker Million, and was even ranked 70th best English poker player.

After reportedly earning over £4million in prize money during his illustrious career, Jimmy’s poker career has brought him even more riches, and he’s won over $150,000 in his short poker career so far.

Honourable Mention…

Special mention goes to everybody’s favourite horse racing critic, Mr John McCririck. When he’s not busy upsetting the ‘ladies’ in the Celebrity Big Brother house, or getting rather excited when presenting the horse racing, McCririck likes nothing more than a good game of poker. While his poker winnings can’t compete with the big boys (currently stands at around , $5,000 since 2003), we imagine it’s quite off-putting trying to play poker against him while he wears his trademark deerstalker and tweed jacket.
