EastEnders man joins Littlewoods Poker

Former EastEnders star and new Littlewoods Poker pro Michael Greco arrived in London from his ‘poker training camp’ in Spain for a photo shoot with Tony Cascarino late last week.

Afterwards, Michael fielded the usual array of questions regarding his high-profile TV career, but it’s worth noting the guy is a serious actor who boasts theatre credits for his roles in Shakespeare’s All’s Well That Ends Well and Much Ado About Nothing as well as playing the lead in Don Juan.

He is also an extremely good poker player who really established his credentials when winning £100,000 in a GUKPT event staged in Cardiff last spring. “I was pleased with that,” he said, matter-of-factly on Monday afternoon, “because it made people realise I wasn’t just another ‘celeb’ catching the poker wave, I could actually play. Also, a hundred grand comes in handy at any time.” We quite agree.

Later, in an extended interview for the Littlewoods Poker-cast, he revealed how he would be keen on clinching a unique double: winning an Oscar and a WSOP* title. As he’s already zipped off to Vegas, no-one should bet against this determined young man achieving the second leg of his target sooner rather than later. As for the Oscar, wouldn’t he be the perfect lead in a gritty poker movie? All he needs is a decent script…
