Being Reckless?

by Simon Dexter Thursday, August 7th, 2008

Hi guys

Would it be a sign of confidence or of a reckless player to over-estimate his ability? A few times recently, I’ve played to the bitter end (and lost) when perhaps the clever thing to do would be to lay down a second-best hand and wait for a fresh one.

Bad Beat Apology?

by Simon Dexter Thursday, July 31st, 2008

Hi guys,

Do you know, I’ve had a guts-full of poker instruction manuals, online tutorials and the rest. No matter how much of this stuff I take in, whenever I’m playing I continually find myself thinking “this guy is bluffing” and then folding or else I think “my opponent is weak” but then fail to raise.

by Simon Dexter Thursday, July 10th, 2008

Hi Guys
I appreciate that playing online differs in several ways from playing live, but apart from the obvious difference when it comes to identifying tells, are there any other subtle nuances this regular online player should look for when playing live?
