If you’ve never seen it, the show highlights the occasionally odd and certainly unusual lifestyles of young people aged between 18-28. Online poker players with a tale to tell are much in demand.

Legendary player Daniel Negreanu has been chatting about the effect of the ante in a game of Texas Hold’Em in his weekly syndicated poker column.
The popular Canadian says: “Playing with an ante changes the game significantly and necessitates a change in playing strategy.”

Much of what has been written about online poker tells could now be out of date due to the upsurge in people playing on multi tables.
Improved technology has made it far easier for players to be involved in more than one table at a time, with some of the best players believing they can manage to be successful when playing up to 15 tables.

Hi,
I’ve been playing online for a year now with a fair amount of success and feel as though I’m ready to make the move to bigger stakes tables. The problem is, I have tried a few times, only to suffer from a few losing sessions which I know has knocked my confidence. Are there any boxes I should be ticking off before upgrading my play?

It’s that time of year for a review of the previous year, so here we go with some of the highlights and lowlights of 2007.
January saw one of the most important poker court cases to be brought before a judge, when the Gutshot Club tried to argue that poker was indeed a game of skill over luck. There was no such luck for the club however, as it was forced to shut it’s doors when the ruling went against them.

Continuing the look at last year in the world of poker, we dive straight into events in July. The WSOP Main Event was taken down by US social worker and relatively known player Jerry Yang, who out lasted over 6,000 rivals to take the huge first prize. In the same tournament, one player was knocked out in the very first hand having gone all-in when re-raised holding AA. Unfortunately for him, he busted out with his rival drawing a flush.
