Bored of bad beats?

by Simon Dexter Friday, November 30th, 2007

They say you should keep bad beat stories to yourself, put them down to experience and move on. But I’ve never been one for taking any notice of what one should do so here is a tale of my own unluckiness. Feel free to click on another story if you cannot face another but perhaps hearing this may make you fell a little better about your own bitter stories.

I’d been playing a no-limit cash game for over five hours and by my standards was doing pretty well and was up far more than my talents deserved. Feeling a little tired, I decided the next hand would be my last and I could go to bed quite satisfied at the evening’s events.

Poker CV

by Simon Dexter Friday, November 30th, 2007

As an avid poker forum reader (I rarely post, don’t know why), I came across the following interesting thread started by a law student.

“I’m currently drafting my CV to apply to a few big national and regional law firms. Now under the heading “interests” I’ve put a snippet on the usual stuff - played football for my county, enjoy reading etc.

The Caribbean Poker Classic - Cruising on a Catamaran

I’m being forced to drink cocktails in the sun with poker players from all around the world. When you talk it through it really does sound awful.

The Caribbean Poker Classic Review - Day One

by Simon Dexter Thursday, November 29th, 2007

LittlewoodsPoker.com has travelled thousands of miles to participate in the Caribbean Poker Classic 2007 held in the beautiful Caribbean island of St Kitts. If ever a place was intended to be the mould for paradise then St Kitts and the Kittitain people are at the very top of the list. Endless white sand beaches, palm tress, temperatures that only people back in the UK can dream of during December and vats of rum punch are the order of the day - every day - in this, one of the most breathtaking locations on earth.
